Our project, Flexibility in Practice, in collaboration with Falbygdens Energi Nät, aimed to assess whether improved planning tools could facilitate the connection of renewable energy production, electric vehicle charging stations, and/or energy storage—currently hindered by capacity uncertainties in the overhead grid.
In this case study, Plexigrid’s tool was used to perform a power quality investigation after a customer reported recurring pump failures at their facility, which disrupted operations and raised concern for equipment damage and maintenance costs. Using energy readings from smart meters converted to voltage data, Plexigrid was able to provide with detailed quality information on network activity, without extra cost in operations.
